01

Add a health route

Expose dependencies in one route handler. Return 503 when anything critical fails. The keyword assertion catches wrong-but-200 responses too.

export async function GET() {
  const db = await checkDatabase();
  return Response.json(
    { ok: db.ok, version: "1.4.2" },
    { status: db.ok ? 200 : 503 },
  );
}

02

Check it every 30 seconds

Create an HTTP monitor on /api/health with a keyword assertion on "ok":true. Six regions probe it; three must agree it is down before you are paged.

03

Heartbeat Vercel Cron jobs

Call a ping token at the end of your cron route. If the run throws or Vercel skips the invocation, the missed heartbeat alerts you.

export async function GET() {
  await runNightlySync();
  await fetch("https://ping.pinganywhere.com/cPAT_OK");
  return Response.json({ ok: true });
}

Frequently asked questions

Does this work with Vercel Cron?

Yes. Ping a token from the end of your cron route; a skipped or failed run shows up as a missed heartbeat within one interval.

How fast will I know when something breaks?

Checks run every 30 seconds from 6 regions, and three regions must agree before an alert fires. Fast, with no 3 a.m. false alarms.

Is it free during the beta?

Yes, everything is free during the beta, and waitlist members lock $19/mo forever at launch.
